“Thirsty”. Like the cracked bottom of a river waiting for rain, but also like the desire to learn and know. The review, which has just been published in the first issue, offers to investigate water in all its forms and in all its cases. The three founding partners, Pauline Boyer, Emilie Laurent and Patrice Bertaud du Chazaud, met while working on this challenge and decided to combine their skills to make it both accurate and a unique object for the general public. “The project was born a year ago,” says team journalist Pauline Boyer. Water is an obvious element of our life but completely invisible. We are used to getting it easily. That’s why we called this first issue “Uncovering the Invisible” to restore water’s rightful place in our lives. Know better to protect it better. »

Apart from technical or specialized publications related to surfing or nature, the founders had the passion to create with “Soif” a real general magazine with sections that can usually be found in the magazine, politics, culture, environment.

Maintenance of rivers

Founded in Bordeaux, “Soif” has the ambition of a national magazine. This first issue opens with the River Interview, a wide-format interview with glaciologist Heidi Sevestre. The Big Big section reports on Catalonia, which is facing a very worrying drought, but whose residents also have to deal with dilapidated distribution networks and numerous cuts.

Also read an article about immersion with Bordeaux sewers or Point Nemo, the furthest point from any land. The children’s section is also designed for the little ones. “Soif” received the support of Ademe (Ecological Transition Agency), the Bordeaux Metropolitan Water Authority and the Nouvelle-Aquitaine Region. The magazine can be ordered online and is also available in some bookstores. Issue 2 will be published at the end of November.
