Michel Barjou worked for many years to promote the sites of the Pays de Lauz while working as a physical education teacher in Crepes in Bordeaux. Twice a year, he invited his students to various sports events, including mountain bike rides. They are enriched with careful location scouting and route markings.
From Lauzun to Sauvetat, at the beginning, all the villages of today’s Pays de Lauzun community are crossed by small paths and marked trails. Based on the existing network of municipal roads, new routes have been added over the years with the support of the Sports Commission of the commune community chaired by Jean-Marie Farbos since 2021 and always with the support of Michel’s technique. To date, there are 16 marked circuits stretching over 320 km. They are maintained by the municipalities and can be used free of charge all year round.
Three difficulty levels
Originally discovered by Michel and his Kreps students, these circuits essentially follow paths that anyone can take and allow you to explore forests, springs, rivers, creeks, lakes, and other local cultural treasures. Divided into three levels of difficulty with or without mountain bike, they meet the wishes of more or less experienced athletes, as well as those who like hiking or family outings.
Each circuit is numbered, color-coded by difficulty, and has a name. They can be viewed from a computer, tablet or mobile phone.
