Be on the lookout for Alsatians planning a roast this weekend. Several batches of barbecue meat are coated with a rappel Since this Friday, it has been flagging the suspected presence of salmonella in these foods private government site Rappel Jonso.
This applies to batches of classic chipolatas, herbs, barbecue varieties and grilled chorizo from the Thierry Schweitzer brand, sold in Bas-Rhin and Haut-Rhin between July 16 and July 24.
These products are distributed across several brands in the region, including Auchan, Cora, Leclerc, Simply, Intermarché and Super U, and are set to expire on July 26 or July 30, 2024.
Risks of food poisoning
Rappel Johnson says the recall was initiated due to the discovery of the bacteria responsible for salmonellosis. “Salmonella food poisoning results in a sudden onset of gastrointestinal disturbances (diarrhea, vomiting), often accompanied by fever and headache, and usually occurs 6 to 72 hours after ingestion of contaminated products.”
These disorders are also “more common in young children, pregnant women, immunocompromised individuals and the elderly,” adds Rappel Johnson, who urges people who have consumed the recalled products to consult their doctors if they experience these symptoms.
“If there are no symptoms within 7 days after consuming the relevant products, there is no need to worry and consult a doctor. If the product must be cooked before consumption: thorough cooking of the products (hard-boiled eggs, pastries, poultry, etc.) at + 65°C allows the destruction of these bacteria and the prevention of the consequences of such contamination”. it is still platform specific.
People who bought these lots can benefit from a refund if they take this step. The recall procedure, which started on July 26, is valid until August 14.
